Title: "Cannon Beach"
Size: 36" X 60"
Medium: Oil on canvas
Story: The morning fog made these
massive rocks float weightlessly. While painting, I thought about the classic Chinese painters
and their portrayal of the environment as transcendent and mystical. Originally there were people
in the scene but I took them out. I didn't want the painting to be about 'people at the beach'.
I want it to be about a quiet splendor that we experience alone, without others.
