Story: Sometimes it's difficult to say precisely what attracts an artist's attention to a subject. In this case it was the quietness I felt while studying this scene. Just sitting there looking, looking, and looking. Here is a diagonal composition in which the coastal trees interlock with rolling fog. This paintings is busy on the left and calm on the right. The contrast of opposites always makes for an interesting relationship.
